Messy!

Today Lucas got to play with his food. Well, he has no idea it was food but he sure had fun! I mixed up some rice cereal for babies and dumped it on my high chair tray. He had a big mess by the time he was done. It was all over him, the high chair and the floor. Oh well, he had a blast and I did not mind cleaning it up.

He even took a bite but I don't think he like it much since he spit it right back out.

5 months .... Already?!?!

Well now that I have gotten around to writing this he is almost 5 1/2 months old and growing like a weed. We weighed him the other day and he is about 17 lbs and around 25 1/2 inches long. He now sits on his own but only for a minute or two before he falls over. He loves to spend time playing on his belly but has not figured out how to crawl, although it is not from lack of effort. Still no teeth but I think one or two might be here soon. He is drooling more than I ever thought possible.

4th of July

Lucas got to hear and see his first fireworks. At first the loud bangs scared him but then he noticed the bright lights and was mesmerized by them. To make the day better he rolled from my back to his belly for the first time all by himself!

Fishing

We spent the weekend at the river and Lucas went on his first big fishing trip. We went two different times. Once up the river and once down river. I only caught one fish, my first of the summer. Dan caught a lot of fish. Maybe next summer Lucas can catch his own fish. Lucas did get to use his new life jacket. It was a lot of fun. He spent a lot of his time looking around taking it all in.
