I Have FEET!

Lucas has found his feet. Well, he knew they were there because he would stare at them but just could not reach them yet. Yesterday he finally got a hold of them and now I think they are his favorite "toy". He has yet to get them into his mouth but I'm sure it's coming. Everything ends up in his mouth!

Florida

A little late but thats better than never, right? We took Lucas on his first vacation to New Smryna Beach, FL.

We left St. Louis around 7pm. We had to stop in Mt. Vernon at 8pm because Lucas pooped. Gram wanted to pick him up and ended up with poop all over her shirt.

5/17
We arrived today about 11am. We took Lucas to the beach for the first time and he got to get his feet wet.

5/18
We got up late and went to the beach. Lucas got in the water but started crying when a wave splashed up into his face. After lunch we hung out at the pool and Lucas went swimming for the first time and seemed to enjoy it. He kept trying to put his face in the water. Lucas also learned a new trick today. He rolled over from his stomach to his back 5 times. We went to WalMart and Lucas got his first pair of sunglasses.

Today was pretty un eventful. We went to the beach again this morning but, after a couple hours it started to rain a little so we came back to our rooms to eat lunch.
After lunch we napped and then went to the pool again. After about ten minutes it started to rain again so we came back to our room. After dinner we went back to the pool. Luc loves to swim.

Today was nothing special we went to the beach in the morning and just hung around the condo and went swimming in the afternoon.

We spent the day at the pool, no beach today. At sunset the 3 of us went for a walk along the beach.

5/22
Today has been a cloudy overcast day. It has been a little cooler but it is getting very humid.
We went to historic downtown New Smyrna. It was about as exciting as watching paint dry. After lunch we went to a gift shop and got Lucas a souvenir license plate.
It has been decided that we will be cutting our vacation short and leaving tonight?!?!
Sarah and I went out to another souvenir shop and got a few picture frames and a hat for Lucas. Luc tried to throw up in my mouth but luckily I was able to turn my head so it just got my cheek. He will now be referred to as Pucas. We got on the road at 6:50 eastern time. Hopefully we will be home by 10:00.

5/23
On the ride home I (Dan) realized two things. First, the bugs in Florida were terrible. I am covered in bug bites. Second, we have three kinds of vacation pictures: pictures of Lucas, pictures of people holding Lucas, and pictures without people.

We got home a little before 9:00am which was pretty good time.

4 months

Yikes 4 months already! We took Lucas to the doctor and he has already doubled his birth weight. He is our big boy at 15lb 14oz and slightly over 25 inches. The doctor says he is in the 70th percentile for his age. He has grown so much in 4 months, he amazes us everyday with the new things he is learning. He has decided that rolling from his belly to his back is fun so he does it pretty regularly.

3 months

Almost 3 months old. He is a good baby sleeps through the night most nights and eats eats eats! Sometimes he rolls over from belly to back but not often. He loves to be on his belly to play! Lucas is all smiles and is starting to give us some good laughs!
