First Christmas

Wow, Christmas was a busy two days, but worth it in the end. We got to spend time with a lot of family. Lucas got a TON of toy's, clothes, and even some new cloth diapers. (I'm so glad to have more diapers!!) He did not show much interest in opening the gift but sure liked to play with the toys!

Way Behind

I have had so much going on with the holiday's that I have neglected to update on all of Lucas' new trick. He are a few of the highlights.

• Lucas officially prefers to walk rather than crawl.

• He has 6 teeth and a 7th is very close to joining the rest.

• He is a bit of a monkey and has learned to climb into and over boxes

I'm sure there is more and I will update as I remember.

4 & 5

Tooth 4 & 5 have made an appearance! 4 is his top right center tooth and tooth 5 is next to where his left center should be. In all Lucas is sporting 3 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth. He Looks pretty silly with the a top left center tooth missing but it looks like it is just below the surface. Maybe in the next week it will come in.

Baby Steps

Yes that is right our lil man has taken his first steps. He started out with one or two at a time but just the other day took 7 in a row! He is getting brave and has started to let go of the furniture to try to walk all on his own. He has gotten many bumps and bruises along the way but maybe in a few weeks he will be a pro? According to his Gram he takes after Auntie C, she was always hurting herself.

Another....

Tooth! Lucas now has 3 teeth, all on the bottom. We thought he was getting his top front teeth and all of a sudden there was a third tooth on bottom!

Then & Now

Lucas is now 9 months old and so much has changed.

Then he was 7lbs 15oz
Now he is 21lbs 3oz
Then he was 20 inches
Now he is 28 inches
Then he worn Newborn clothing
Now he wear 12 month clothing

Then he slept most of the day.
Now he won't sit still.

He is crawling cruising and generally moving everywhere! He loves his finger foods & is getting better and better at using a sippy cup.

Someone made this for me and I just had to share.

I have been playing around with some photo editing programs and here is what I have done to a few pictures.

Visiting Auntie C

Lucas and I flew to Omaha to visit Christen for a few days. We left on Saturday October 18 and came home early Tuesday October 21. I was a bit nervous flying with Lucas by myself, actually I was just nervous about flying. Lucas did great, he slept the majority of the 1hr we were on the plane both to and from Omaha. While in Omaha we went to the park and to the Zoo. I was so mad because I forgot the camera when we went to the Zoo and there were so many neat things to see. Well here are a few of my favorite pictures from our trip.

8 months

Sorry I am a little behind (almost 3 weeks). Lucas is 8 months old now and changing like crazy. He crawls like he has known how all along. He now gets into everything, so beware if he comes to visit! I promise to do the 9 month update a little closer to the time he turns 9 months.

Gone Cloth

I have decide after much debate (with myself) that I would give cloth diapers a try. They save money and are better for the environment, so why not at least try? after almost a month, so far so good! Here are a few pictures of Lucas showing off his new diapers.

ZOO

On September 20th We took Lucas to the zoo for his Grandma B's birthday. It was his very first time there and he LOVED it! Not only did he enjoy looking at the animals but he seemed to enjoy looking at all of the people. He even got to feel some leopard skin. By the end of out trip he was tired and took a little nap.

Just so tired

After fighting a nap all afternoon Lucas finally gave in, just not in a spot most would take a nap. He was not even finished with his food when the sandman showed up. I wish I could have gotten it all on video. He would take a bite, close his eyes, open his eyes and then his mouth for another bite. He did this several time before completely giving in and taking a nap in the highchair while we finished out dinner. And who could forget the pictures!

Peas

Lucas decided at dinner tonight that peas where better to play with than to eat.

1+1=2

1 tooth + 1 tooth = 2 teeth!
Yes that is right a mere 2 days after Lucas got his first tooth his second tooth showed up.

7 months

Lucas celebrated turning 7 months in style, and by that I mean he has been sick all day. He woke up early this morning running a fever and continued to run a fever off and on all day. He is about 19 lbs and not much taller than last month. But boy, has a lot changed! He is a crawling fool. He pulls himself up on furniture and other items, although it does not always work out like he might like. He eats solids twice a day, some of his favorites include sweet potatoes, carrots, prunes, peaches & pears. We also let him munch on some finger foods, like Strawberry Apple puffs, bitter biscuits & his new favorite Mum Mum's aka rice rusk.

TOOTH! Yes, you read right, Lucas has a tooth. His bottom left tooth has broken through! Maybe that explains why he has been a bit cranky lately? It looks like the bottom right tooth is not far behind but who knows we thought a month ago the bottom two were on their way.
